Sketch

While cleaning off some files on my computer I found this sketch I did for my bird in the post below. Its an example of where most of my illustrations begin. This sketch was about 3 inches tall and done with your regular old blue BiC pen. It was then scanned and redrawn in Illustrator.

I hope everyones New Year is off to a great start. I can't believe we are already a month into 2008, but its shaping up to be a very exciting and very busy new year. Hard to tell by my lack of posts these last few months.

Many new projects are in the works including a bunch of new prints that I'll hopefully have completed soon, but my biggest, most exciting, beautiful and exhausting new project came to us on January 21st in the form of an 8lb 14oz baby boy. Sleep is now only dreamt about here at WarnickArt.com and when you're not sleeping, it makes the whole dreaming part a little more difficult.

Also be on the lookout for a little write up on me in the upcoming HOW magazine soon to be hitting your mailbox or a store near you. Very exciting! Be sure to pick one up next time you're out.

Things lateley have been quite busy here at WarnickArt, although it would be hard to tell with the lack of posts. Here is my latest poster for the Arctic Monkeys show tomorrow night in Columbus. I cannot wait to see these guys live, should be an excellent show.

This weeks CiN Weekly. Originally the corn guy was going to be a hot dog covering himself in ketchup and mustard, but we decided that corn was the best representation of the food we would find at Taste of Cincinnati.

Here are a couple of the original sketches I had for the cover. Once I've decided on a sketch I'll scan it in and draw it in Adobe Illustrator.

A while back I was interviewed by Freedom Magazine, a really cool arts magazine out of Taiwan. Well, I'm sure it would be a lot cooler if I could read it. Anyways they were nice enough to send me a copy a while ago and I'm finally posting a pic of my page. Note page 16! I believe this was from the February or March issue.

Wow, so I can't believe its been so long since I've last posted. Been quite busy lately with a lot of projects that seem to be happening all at once. Heres a little sneak peak at some of the things I've been up to.

Keith and I have been busy also over at Small Print. It seems Guster liked our posters for Bogarts so much that they had us do ones for their shows in New York and Boston, keeping the same Guinness theme. We also did a few tshirt concepts for the Dave Matthews Band. You can see those over at Small Print also.

More to come soon, hopefully it doesn't take another month and half to post again!

Pretty Bird

So my obsession with birds continues. Heres a tshirt I created for AlternativeMotive.com. This tee is definitely based on quite a few personal run-ins. One such encounter gave my car a brand new and quite the unwanted paint job. We're not talking one or two spots here or there. No sir, my car was completely covered. Picture it as a group of B2 Bombers zeroing in on their target. Seriously, there was a trail leading up to my car. I'll have to see if I can't dig up some pics.

Anyways be sure to check out the site. Oh, and did I mention a portion of the profits goes to the Ohio Bird Conservation Initiative.
